Dance like no-one is watching! Dance is a great way to develop many of the attributes of a growing child. Dance helps children mature physically, emotionally, socially, and cognitively. We encourage children to move to music without inhibitions, to allow them to move confidently, creativelyand to express themselves.
Cooking is not only a fun, engaging activity for children, but one that has been used for years as an important teaching and development tool for all ages. Hands-on cooking activities help children develop confidence and independence whilst helping to develop their Social-Emotional, Physical, Cognitive and Language skills. We love to cook and bake with the children then share our creations with parents and carers at home time.
When children are outdoors it provides them with a sense of wonder and excitement. The children that attend Tiddlypeeps often go to feed the ducks at the pond, jump in muddy puddles, build obstacle course or dens in our garden, which is often a time filled with fun and laughter. We have an outside classroom that leads onto our large garden area where children are encouraged to explore and play. Rain is a resource not a hindrance! We have spare waterproof suits and wellies at nursery so that everyone can enjoy the outdoor environment in any weather.
“Woodwork provides a unique learning experience for young children. It is rich in so many areas of learning and development and it is an activity which children really enjoy doing, being absorbed for extended periods of time. It encompasses creative thinking, maths skills, scientific investigation, physical development and coordination, developing language and vocabulary, and much more.
It is wonderful for building self-esteem and confidence. This is for a combination of reasons; through being empowered to use real tools, by being given responsibility, accomplishing tasks that they initially feel to be challenging, gaining new skills and finally taking pride in their creations.” Pete Moorhouse
